Illustrating United…
Exciting stuff is afoot folks! Similar to the Hearts of Midlothian project I worked on last year, this is the my pictorial tribute to Manchester United. It looks a little rough at the moment but that’ll change. Early days.
I have been wanting to start this for a while reason but for many reasons I had to keep delaying it. I’m loving how much I am learning about all these different clubs. I also find the dedication that all the football fans have for their clubs to be really fascinating. Make no mistake, it’s serious business. If it’s not life and death then nobody told them.
I think that in a lot of ways, human beings still feel the urge to be part of something bigger than themselves. It’s part of our nature. football and it’s supporters can sometimes get a bum wrap but I think it is important to note that the football stadium is one of the few places that people now go to have communal experiences. And in a world of where it seems increasingly easy to disengage with those around us, I don’t think that is necessarily a bad thing.
Looking forward to continuing with this project. As well as checking back on the blog for regular updates you can also follow me on twitter @GregorLouden or search #MufcTributeArt.
