Spring into Summer

In June, 2017, I was invited by the folks at Wild ‘n Art to participate in an exhibition at the Livingston shopping centre (my home town no less). A few select artists were to custom paint their own frog sculpture with a view to dotting them around the shopping centre once finished. The project was a blast. It ended up being a live paint session where we painted the frogs in the middle of the shopping centre in full view of the local shoppers.

for my own frog, I chose to draw upon my own memories of my home town and depict many of the local landmarks around Livingston.I feel that Livingston sometimes gets a bit of a bad rap interms of it being seen as simply a town that houses multiple shops but the truth is that it has actually got quite lot of history to it which is something that I tried to reflect in the art work. My finished frog also got a wee mention in the national press.
